During the recent small but meaning full inaugural event of Ian Scott International Leadership Series held at Le’Merdian Hotel in IOI Resort City on 27th July 2019, MD Asia & Asia Pacific Region Ybhg. Dato Sr Rosli Atan officially announced and gladly hand over the official appointment of the first ever Chairman of Ian Scott International (M) Sn Bhd to Ybhg. Dato Sr Lau Wai Seang.
Ybhg. Dato’ Sr Lau is a Registered Valuer, Estate Agent and Property Manager with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers, Malaysia. She is the fellow of Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and an Honorary Member of Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA). She is a Business Valuer certified by International Association of Certified Valuation Specialists, (IACVS), USA. She is also a Certified Intellectual Property Valuer (CIPV), a joint certification by MyIPO (Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation) and World Trade Institute, University of Berne, Switzerland; and a Registered Valuer and Registered Estate Agent, both registrations are from the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents, Malaysia.
Ybhg. Dato’ Sr Lau was the Past President of RISM. Her first join in government sector was in 1980 as a Valuation Executive at JPPH Selangor. After that, she worked as Deputy Director at Training & Research Center of JPPH, National Assessment Institute (INSPEN) for more than 8 years. Before she was appointed as become the Director of Valuation Services Division of JPPH, she was the State Valuation Director of Sarawak (1987-1992), Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (2004-2005), Pulau Pinang (2006-2011) and Perak (2012). She was the Director of Valuation Services Division at the HQ of JPPH, Putrajaya from 2013 to 2015 prior to her retirement.
Ybhg. Dato’ Sr Lau is currently the Regional President of Asia, Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy (CASLE) and the Organizing Chair, 30th Pan Pacific Congress 2020. She was the Panel Judge of several prominent Property Awards, both locally and internationally. She had presented papers and chaired conferences, both locally and internationally. She had also written and published articles related to the real estate market and the intellectual property market. 
During her brief thank you speech, she was delightful with the appointment and call that since we are in the service industry, serve the public with full of professionalism and integrity in line with the company’s Vision and Mission where nothing is impossible to be accomplished especially in new area of Business Valuation despite Ian Scott International being new in Malaysia and to explore Asia and Asia Pacific property market.
